The 2022 Asia Cup T20 version is taking place in Dubai and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. This is 15th edition of Asia Cup cricket Tournament held from 27th August to 11th September. Originally it was scheduled to be held in July 2020 but due to Covid 19 pandemic it rescheduled in June 2021 and again rescheduled to be held in August and September 2022.
Asia Cup 2022 Champion
Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup 2022 by 23 runs defeating Pakistan. In the final match Sri Lanka scored 170/6 in 20 overs whereas Pakistan scored 147 in 20 overs. The final match was played on 11th September at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai where Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. Bhanuka Rajapaksa was player of the match.
Teams in Asia Cup 2022
Six teams competed with each other to become the champions of Asia Cup. India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan face each other in the group stage. The second round-Robin stage has all the teams facing each other. The progressing teams enter the Super four stage. Further the top two then faced off in the Asia Cup Finals.

Best performers in Asia Cup 2022
Facing crisis in their homeland, Sri Lanka became the Champion of Asia Cup 2022 by defeating Pakistan. Bhanuka Raj from Sri Lanka scored 71 run in the final match and become player of the match. Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka become player of the series. During the series Mohammad Rizwan (281 runs) from Pakistan scored most runs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (11 wickets) from India taken most wickets.

Brief History of Asia Cup
The Asian Cricket Council Asia Cup is a One Day International and T20 International cricket tournament. It was established in 1983 just when the Asian cricket council was founded. The aim was to promote goodwill between the countries. The tournament alternates every two years between ODI and T20Is formats.
Since then, the most successful team has been India with a win of 7 Asia Cup titles in the years 1984, 1988, 1990/91, 1995, 2010, 2016, and 2018.
Next Edition of Asia Cup is Scheduled to be held in 2022 which is to be hosted by Pakistan.
