National Ayurveda Day 

The National Ayurveda Day is celebrated every year on Dhanteras which is Birth Anniversary of Lard Dhanwantri. It is believed that Lord Dhanwantari is Hindu God for Medicine and is an avatar of Lard Vishnu.


National Ayurveda Day 2023

National Ayurveda Day 2023 will be observed on 10 November 2023 as National Ayurveda Day is celebrated every year on Dhanteras which fall on 10 November 2023. This is 8th Ayurveda Day since it is observed first time in the year 2016.

Ministry of AYUSH has been observing Ayurveda Day every year since 2016 on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti (Dhanteras). On this occasion Nation bestowed with two future-ready Ayurveda institutions. These are; 1. The Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar and 2. The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur. The Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar has been conferred the status of an Institution of National Importance by an Act of the Parliament and The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur has been an Institution Deemed to be University by the University Grants Commission.

National Ayurveda Day 2022

National Ayurveda Day 2022 was observed on 23 October 2022 as in the year 2022 Dhanteras was celebreted on 23rd October. National Ayurveda Day 2022 was 6th Ayurveda Day since its celebration started in 2016.

National Ayurveda Day 2021

National Ayurveda Day 2021 was observed on 2 November 2021 as in the year 2021 Dhanteras was celebreted on 2 November. National Ayurveda Day 2021 was 5th Ayurveda Day since its celebration started in 2016.

National Ayurveda Day 2020

National Ayurveda Day 2020 was observed on 13.11.2020 as Dhanteras 2020 was celebrated on 13.11.2020. This is 5th Ayurveda Day since it is observed first time in the year 2016.


Objectives of National Ayurveda Day

Celebration of National Ayurveda Day is an initiative to further promote Ayurveda into mainstream. Its motives also includes focus on strengths of Ayurveda for well being of human and its unique treatment principle. Ayurveda also reduce the burden of disease and morbidity and mortality. This also explore the potential of Ayurveda to contribute towards National Health Policy and Programmes. This also aims to create a sense of awareness among general masses and promote Ayurvedic principles of healing in society for well being of all living creatures.
