Martin Luther King was a famous civil rights activist of USA. He played leading role in the movement to end racial segregation in the United States. He was inspired by Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence and used non-violent protest as his most powerful weapon in various movements to achieve equality for people of all colors in community. His most famous speech was 'I Have a Dream' which he delivered during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. Martin Luther King was the youngest man who awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his non-violent struggle for civil rights for the Afro-American population. He dreamt that all people would be judged by their personal qualities and not by the color of their skin. In April 1968 he was assassinated by a white racist.
